Xplosion Mas was founded in 2023 by Kianna Rachal, an Oakland native who has embraced Trinidadian culture from a young age through Annabelle Goodridge and her participation in the award-winning Bay Area carnival contingent,  Sistas-Wit-Style. Alongside founding members Merissa Lyons and Valencia Newton, Kianna played a key role in bringing Caribbean culture to life in the Bay Area.

Her passion for Carnival led her to travel, train, and perform in Trinidad with Malik Dance Company and Stasha George, where she opened for various artists. She also earned the title of San Francisco Carnival Queen in 2016 under Sistas-Wit-Style.

Xplosion Mas was created to continue promoting and preserving Caribbean culture within the Bay Area community. It serves as an outlet for dance, connection, and celebration, providing a space where like-minded individuals can come together, enjoy themselves, and fully embrace the spirit of Carnival. The group fosters a family-friendly, inclusive environment for all ages and body types.

Xplosion Mas features two house DJs, DJ Young Fyah and DJ Doogie TNT Soundstation, both of whom have been with Kianna since her time with Sistas-Wit-Style before transitioning into Xplosion Mas. The energy is electric, the vibes are unmatched, and the costumes are authentically inspired by the Caribbean islands, bringing the true essence of Carnival to life.
